Analysis Song Lyric (Rockabye - Clean Bandit ft. Annie Marrie and Sean Paul)
I want to analysis song ‘Rockabye’ from the group Clean Bandit with the featuring English singer Anne-Marie as main vocalist and Sean Paul as the rapper. The song is a smart mix of pop, some dancehall, electronica and of course Clean Bandit’s classical instrumentation (Michielvmusic.2016). I choose this song because it explained about the social issue that is ‘single mom as a single parent’ in our society. In songfacts article, said that being a single mom is a very common structure. This song is about how single parent women endure hardships to raise their children and give them a decent life.
An ode to single mothers, “Rockabye” is “about doing anything you can to give your child a decent life,” says Clean Bandit’s Grace Chatto (Leight.2017). As we know, nowadays we often encounter women with the status of 'single parent' whether it's because of a 'mistake' or indeed their choice to separate from their partners. This song can be a motivation for those who are struggling on their own to support their children. In this song have the part lyric “She works the night, by the water” also tells that single moms are willing to work late at night just for their children.

This song is an encouragement for single moms in the world. Because this song shows that women with single parent or single mom status can also raise their children well with the effort that they have in the part lyric “Now she got a six year old, Trying to keep him warm, Trying to keep all the cold”. In this song, it is said that being a single mom is not easy, there are definitely many things that must be faced. Of course, there will also be many obstacles when facing the role of being a single parent for their child we can see in the part lyric “Facing the hard life without no fear” and “Cause any obstacle come you well prepared”. A single mom is a person who is strong woman we know that at the part lyric “And no mamma you never shed tear”. They can perform both mother and father roles at the same time. In this song, a single mom keeps trying hard to convince her child that nothing will change, in terms of love or the life they will live in. For a single mom, the most important thing in her world is her child's life now, tomorrow, and forever.

Regardless of what people say out there, I think being a single parent is not an easy thing. A person who becomes this figure is a strong person, the most important thing for them is their small family, not what other people say. Hope this answers your question! Have a nice day.

Everyone has their own perspective on something, and it is beyond our control. If asked like this, my answer is to go back to the person him/her self. If the person experiencing this problem doesn't care about it, it means it's not a big problem for him/her. Thank you Dias!

We must play the role of mother and father in one body, and strive to provide for our children properly. We also can find this issue in many cases in Indonesia and it is not uncommon for this to be used as an example which they think is "inappropriate" without knowing the truth. Whereas on the other hand, the figure of a single parent is a tough figure and in my opinion, that trait should be emulated by others. Have a nice day!

But what we often encounter is, it is not uncommon for people to see a single mom as a single parent from the bad side.
