Critical thinking is thinking systematically, logically, and objectively. By thinking critically, can help us to understand a situation or information rationally. The characteristics of someone who thinks critically are always checking the sources of information that has been obtained, accepting criticism from others openly, and always weighing the pros and cons of an issue. Generally, humans think instantaneously, superficially, and emotionally. Someone who has this way of thinking usually takes information hastily. On the other hand, the human brain can also think deeply, systematically and slowly. When people use this way of thinking, they put extra effort into absorbing and rationally assessing information. How to find out the truth of information, we can see the keywords of the information obtained. Another way is to understand the context of the information.

In order to determine the correct attitude in critical thinking, we need the ability to judge and formulate arguments. An argument is a series of sentences that are persuasive or aim to change a person's view of something. Not only that, we also need to have reasoning abilities to think critically, so that we don't take information hastily. Reasoning is divided into two, namely inductive and deductive reasoning. Examples of inductive reasoning are generalizations and analogies. Inductive generalization is the formation of ideas or conclusions from the basis of an event that has been experienced before. Inductive analogy is the use of an example which has some similarities to the topic we are talking about. Therefore, it is very necessary for us to understand or find out more about the information we have obtained.

In critical thinking, we also need to explore a topic from that information. Therefore, we may need to quote the words of a character or expert to convince ourselves or others. With a quote from a trusted figure from a field that matches the topic of the argument, it can further support the argument from the information we get.
