For women, it is important to maintain their appearance so that they look beautiful in the eyes of others. Facial makeup and facial care are needed for women today. In makeupanalysis (2020) article said that women are the synonym of beauty, and makeup is the best way to enhance women’s beauty at one more level. This is also ingrained in me. I really like using a make up and taking care of my facial skin. But I certainly choose make-up or skin care that is suitable and safe for my skin. Because not all skincare is safe and suits my face.
Gerber (2020) stated that the cosmetics, shampoos, lotions, and other beauty products you apply to your skin can be just about as beneficial or harmful as anything you put inside your body. Therefore, we as buyers need to know what content is in the products we want to buy so that dangerous things don't happen. The product I buy must be clear and reliable. Beauty products that I usually buy are advertised attractively and include testimonials from well-known people or people who have used the product. This is where I know how important the role of advertising is in a product. According to Hamlett (2019) advertising has served a critical purpose in the business world by enabling sellers to effectively compete with one another for the attention of buyers. Therefore, they as sellers must advertise their products as attractively as possible, but of course with materials that are safe for humans to use to foster buyers' trust. Then we as buyers also should not be directly consumed by advertisements. We must be smart buyers, so before we buy a product, we should find out in detail what content is in the product first.

Most women must be familiar with this one beauty product. 'Wardah' is one of the beauty products that I often use on a daily basis. Wardah is one product that suits my skin. Of course, before I bought it, I first found out what the ingredients were in this product so that later it wouldn't damage my skin. The first is that Wardah has been stamped with BPOM and is proven to be halal. Another thing is that advertisements for this product have been shown everywhere, from TV and social media. Then, many people review this product honestly and they upload it on Youtube. These are the things that I applied before buying this product. Of course, after buying these products, not all of them are 'suitable' for my skin, not because the ingredients are harmful, but because my skin doesn't match the ingredients in these products. But there are also many 'Wardah' products that suit my skin, and of course I use them until this day. Therefore, in my opinion, we should not be tempted by beauty product advertisements. Because the advertised product, is not necessarily suitable for our skin. That's why we have to be more careful in choosing beauty products, especially when we apply these products directly to our skin.
For me, advertising of a product is very important, in order to tell the audience that the product you make is a product that is very feasible to buy and safe for everyone to use (in the sense that it does not contain hazardous materials). With advertising, we must earn the buyer's trust. We as buyers must also be careful before buying a product for our skin. My point here, does not mean that all cosmetics are dangerous. But back again as I said at the beginning, everyone has their own skin whether their skin is sensitive or allergic to some ingredients contained in cosmetics. Therefore, it is important for us to be smart buyers, so that we can know which products are allowed and which products should not be applied to our skin. Do not just look at the advertised, and after seeing the advertised you immediately feel interested and immediately buy it. This is not recommended for your own good and health.

ReplyDeleteHi Dias, In my opinion, this is an example of if we are consumed by an advertisement, we do not find out in depth about it first, we have been 'tempted' in advance with the existing advertisements. ReplyDeleteGood evening Lydia. Good question! I think it depends on the skin of each man, because everyone has a different skin type. Maybe some are suitable and some are not. Like a real example from the people closest to me. My cousin is a boy, and he uses this products, and it turns out that his skin is suitable for using this product. On the other hand, there is my younger brother who uses this products, but a few days after using them he makes and that's a sign that his skin is not suitable for this product. Thank you!

ReplyDeleteHi Brigita! Honestly, I'm lacking that with that statement. I think all women are born 'beautiful' even though they don't use make up, make up is only a sweetener for their beauty. But back to the confidence they have, because everyone has different self-confidence. Have a good Monday!

ReplyDeleteThanks for the question Jihan! I use quite a lot of Wardah products, such as face wash, facial moisturizer, and make-up products such as lipmatte, lipbalm, and concealer. I once wanted to use another brand after seeing the advertisement for its beauty products, I even bought and tried it, and the result was that the product was not suitable for my skin. Therefore, as I said, not all beauty products are suitable for everyone's skin.
